    This is a pair of antique Japanese traditional wooden square measuring boxes, which is called "Masu", which was made 100 years ago.
    A masu was originally a square wooden box used to measure rice in Japan during the feudal period.
    These MASU have a handle, and it is used as a ladle.
    Later, this type of box has been used as a Sake cup. Japanese people drink Sake with this type of Sake cup on celebratory occasions (It's called "Masu Zake".)
