Here is a rare and beautiful Belgian movie poster for the original release of MGM's first half of a tribute to a legendary inventor,
Young Tom Edison
. Norman Taurog directed this loosely biographical account of the early years of Thomas Edison. Mickey Rooney starred as the young genius who would later morph into Spencer Tracy in the follow-up film,
Edison, The Man
. (see separate listing for that poster).This poster is from the film's original Belgian release shortly after the end of the war in Europe, probably 1946 since it is printed on the reverse of a war era ordnance map. This was common practice in order to conserve paper, hence the poster's smaller size. It is in excellent condition with artwork of a portrait of Rooney, which is unique to this Belgian release poster. It is quite rare and I have never seen another example of this poster come up for sale or auction in over 25 years.

COUNTRY OF ORIGIN/SIZE: Belgium  10.5" x 14.75"
CONDITION:
Very Good Condition. Possibly partially trimmed top white border. Printed on the back of a map. Folded in half as originally issued, this poster has been stored flat for 16 years and will be shipped rolled in a sturdy tube or box.
