VTG Japanese Geisha Awase-Kagami Double Makeup Mirror
This was produced in 1960s or 70s by Swallow co. The design is called "Aki Kusa" and depicts beautiful autumn flowers & foliage on a black lacquered background. It comes in its original gift box and packaging. This set is very well made and would look stunning on your makeup desk or vanity.
This is a very traditional style of Japanese mirror and is designed so that you can do the back of your hair or neck makeup using one as a stand mirror and the other as a hand mirror. The mirrors fit together when not in use to provide a dust cover.
This set has never been used and is in its original gift box. The surfaces of both mirrors are clear and fully usable.
The larger mirror measures 15cm (6") across and the smaller one 14cm (5½”) and they are about 25cm long (9½”). They are made of plastic lacquered in a lovely floral design. The stand measures about 24X15cm (9½” X 6”).
Kyoto's iconic Maiko and Geiko have used similar mirrors for generations.
This would look fantastic on your vanity displayed with your Geisha makeup.
