VINTAGE TRADITIONAL JAPANESE UKIYO-E KARUTA ANTIQUE CARD GAME - FS

Description

This sale is for a vintage antique Japanese card game set using Ukiyo-e pictures.
There are 200 cards in this set, but two of the cards are handmade replacements   The cards come in wooden box that was not part of the set.  Each card measures about 2 x 3-inches.
The game starts by laying all the cards on the ground facing up and a person reads the first part of a poem/story on a card and the other players have to find the card the corresponds to the last half of the poem/story.
This is all in Japanese, but the beauty of the cards make this a wonderful set to have displayed or the cards being framed.  These cards are really old, but the pictures and stylized writing make these worth having. They are antique.
