Vintage Lot of Celluloid Animals - Japan / Occupied Japan
These belonged to my dad's (born 1925) parents-they used them in a Putz Village at Christmas in 1930's -1950's
They are all hollow - very light
Large tiger measures about 5" long 2.5" tall - marked Made in Japan
Deer/Antelope
measures about 3" long x 3" tall - marked Made in Japan
Lion measures about 4.5" long x 2.5" tall - marked Made in Japan - dent on hind leg - see photo
Zebra measures about 3.5" long x 2" tall - marked Made in Japan
Rhino measures about 4"
long x 2" tall - marked Made in Japan
- very tiny hole on side - hard to see
Elephant measures about 3" long x 2.5" tall - marked Made in Japan
Leopard measures about 4" long x 2" tall - marked Made in Japan
Medium tiger orange & white measures about 4" long x 2.5" tall - marked Made in Japan
Small tiger measures about 3" long x 1.5" tall - marked Made in Japan
Camel measures about 2.5" long x 2" tall - marked Made in Japan ( faint)
Reindeer measures about 2.25" long x 2.5" tall - marked Made in Occupied Japan - one antler broken - there seems to be some substance covering it
- but it isn't completely covered - I am not sure if it is by design
