Description
This is a ceramic bowl known as achawan
(tea bowl) used in a Japanese
chado
(tea ceremony). It dates to the Showa Era (c. 1950) and has a hand painted design of flowers and moon. There is a signature mark on the bottom (see picture 7).

This chawan measures 4 1/2" in diameter and about 3" tall (11.5 x 8 cm). Having been in storage with limited use for nearly 70 years it remains in
