Vintage Tsuge Kanzashi Hair Ornament
This item came from the Gion Kobu Geisha District of Kyoto. It
is made of Tsuge Boxwood - die-cut in a traditional kamon crest and clear lacquered
. It is probably 40-50 years old but looks like it has never been used. Note that this is not a finely crafted item and is a bit rough if examined closely. Finely finished ones of course, cost in the hundreds of dollars and we have priced this accordingly.
It Measures about:
16cm (6½") in length.
