    Description

    A Japanese hand carved wood sign
    advertising a shop that sold "Seaweed" (Takara Kombu.)
    The top line (in red) states this is "Good Quality". The bottom two lines state this is sold in Shiga (a province next to Kyoto) by Meikawa's merchant store. The upper center would be the cest for this store or it's owner. This indicates his family had samurai ancestors.
    It's 23 7/8 x 17 1/4 inches and 1 inch thick. It weighs 7  pounds
