    Description

    Two, new in box, Rad-Tel branded, Tung Sol made 6L6WGB/5881 tubes. Rad-Tel was one of the local companies in neighboring Irvington, NJ that bought much of the inventory stock, when Tung Sol began closing it's vacuum tube business.  Rad-Tel bought the inventory and rebranded the tubes, like these two. This is of course the period where Tung Sol was an American company- these are not the modern day Russian made reproduction/re-issue Tung Sol tubes. These are branded 6L6 tubes, but are of course, brown micanol based 5881 tubes. You can also see the etched octagon enclosed "5881" designation on the side, with the " USA 3" below the octagon- for Tung Sol plant 3 on Bloomfield Avenue in Bloomfield, NJ (part of it now a bowling alley).  These are a ruggedized 6L6GB tube and of course are suitable replacements to the 6L6 and 6L6GA tubes. These 6L6GB tubes are not equivalent to the 6L6GC tubes and should not be used in applications calling for the 6L6GC. Tested on a Hickok TV-3 military tester that has been calibrated, just to make sure. Firm bases, excellent silvering. Tubes are matched for dynamic gain and structure- test at 5750, 5750 where pass/fail is 3125 micromho. The tubes have the same structure inside and out, having matching date codes of ."5 66", rebranded in mid 1966.
