Description
Two, new in box, Emerson branded, RCA manufactured 2A3 tubes. The tubes were manufactured for Emerson, the radio and television manufacturer, but were made by RCA as evidenced by inspection of the structure as well as the earliest inclusion of the "274" EIA manufacturers code, uniquely identifying RCA as the original manufacturer. Silver printed logo bases, black plates, large D-getter (unique to the wartime VT-95, discontinued post war for small double D getters). Tested on a Hickok TV-3 military tester that has been calibrated, just to make sure. Firm bases, excellent silvering. Tubes are matched for structure and dynamic gain- test at 3600, 3600 where pass/fail is 1900 micromho. The tubes have the same structure inside and out, having matching date codes, "K5E", September-October 1945. The bakelite base surfaces appear to have been burnished prior to the application of the Emerson logo- these were very likely JAN-CRC-2A3, VT-95 tubes that were repurposed for the commercial market. Many other lots of tubes for sale this week.
