Here is a strong testing Sylvania made 6J5GT audio amplifier tube.
It has good flashing, a black plate, a bottom foil getter and a very tight base.
The 6J5GT can be used as a detector or oscillator but most of the time this vintage triode is in demand as an audio amplifier.
It was tested for transconductance (Gm), noise, gas and shorts on my Dan Nelson calibrated TV-7/U tube tester with a digital meter that also measure plate current draw.
For the 6J5GT to be considered "new", a TV-7/U reading of 104 (Gm=2600*) is needed.
The TV-7/U minimum recommended value (65%) for the 6J5GT is 50 (Gm=1250).*Data is from the RCA Receiviong Tube Manual.
