    Description

    Offered here is a Selenium Rectifier Replacement using a modern silicon diode with a 43 ohm series resistor to approximate a selenium rectifier electrically.
    Selenium rectifiers have a tendency to slowly fade away with age, and are also known for their tendency to burn and produce toxic gas with a terrible odor when they fail.  For this reason they should be replaced when restoring older equipment, even if still working.
    This replacement includes a 1 " standoff to allow easy mounting in a Zenith Transoceanic Chassis.  Other application may require a shorter standoff which can be obtained by simply cutting the standoff to length.
    To install, remove the old selenium rectifier and install the replacement and standoff using the same bolt and nut that held the old rectifier in place.  See photos.
