    Here is an ultra rare original Belgian movie poster from the first release of Roberto Rossellini's classic wartime drama,
    Rome-Open City (Roma, Citta Aperta)
    . Starring Aldo Fabrizi, Anna Magnani and Marcello Pagliaro as citizens of Rome surviving the Nazi occupation in 1944. This movie is considered by many to be the quintessential example of neorealism in film. This poster is from the original release of the film in Belgium. It was most likely released shortly after the end of the war in Europe (1945 or 1946). It has been backed on linen and looks wonderful with its beautiful original Belgian artwork. The colors on this poster are still very vibrant after nearly 75 years. This poster is in great condition for its age. It seldom (if ever) comes up for sale or auction and I personally have never seen another example of this Belgian movie poster in more than thirty years.
