Here is a rare original Belgian movie poster from the 1st release of Robert Z. Leonard's classic comedy of manners film,
Pride And Prejudice
. Adapted by Aldous Huxley from the classic novel by Jane Austen, this film tells the story of five sisters from an English family of landed gentry who must deal with issues of marriage, morality and misconceptions. This poster is from the first release of the
movie in Belgium shortly after the end of the war in Europe, probably late 1946 or 1947. It is printed on the reverse of an ordnance map and in the smaller, immediate post-war format in order to conserve paper. It features beautiful artwork of the two lead actors that is unique to this Belgian release poster. It seldom (if ever) comes up for sale or auction.  Another prime example of outstanding Belgian movie poster art.

COUNTRY OF ORIGIN / SIZE: Belgium  11" x 16.5"
CONDITION:
Very Good Untrimmed Folded Condition. Untrimmed top white border with two areas of small paper lose, probably from removal of staples. Remnants of a former theater exhibition snipe that was affixed to bottom of poster. Printed on back of a war map. Slight yellowing of paper.  Artwork is  completely intact. Originally folded as issued, this poster has been stored flat for the past 10 years and will be shipped rolled in a sturdy tube.
