Next up is this rare and beautiful original Belgian movie poster from probably the first re-release of Charlie Chaplin's classic 1936 ode to the working man,
Modern Times,
starring Chaplin in his final appearance as The Tramp. Paulette Goddard and Chester Conklin costar in a film that is considered my many as Chaplin's masterpiece. This is believed to be from a 1946 Belgian rerelease of the film printed on smaller paper as was customary immediately following the end of the war in Europe to conserve paper. The "faded" United Artists logo seems to be inherent to this poster since it appears on every example I have ever seen. This poster seldom comes up for sale or auction.

COUNTRY OF ORIGIN/SIZE: Belgium  12" x 14.25" (15" x 17.5" on linen)
CONDITION: Very Good Condition On Linen. Untrimmed. Overall yellowing of paper after 75 years. Appears never to have been folded and has been stored flat for 20 years. This poster will be shipped rolled in a sturdy tube.
