Here is an original Belgian 1st release movie poster from Richard Pottier's ground breaking French Sci-Fi film,
La Revolte Des Vivants
. This movie was an early attempt at science fiction cinema by the French film industry. The story involves a young scientist who invents a machine that can accurately predict the date and time a person will die. Of course, this invention has dire worldwide consequences. Though I have never had the fortune of seeing this film, it sounds like an interesting premise especially with a screenplay by H.G. Clouzot. This poster is from the first release of the movie in Belgium shortly after the end of the war in Europe. It probably dates to 1946 or early 1947 since it is printed on the reverse of an ordnance map and in the smaller immediate post-war format to conserve paper. It is in excellent, unfolded condition and features beautiful artwork. I have never see another example of this Belgian poster come up for sale or auction in over 30 years so I am assuming that it is quite rare.

CONDITION:
Very Good Untrimmed, Unfolded Condition. Printed on the back of a map. Sight bleed through of map graphics in white borders. Truly excellent condition for a poster of this age.  Originally unfolded as issued, this poster has been stored flat for the past 22 years and will be shipped rolled in a sturdy tube.
