This Japanese Pre-War Hand Painted Porcelain Lady Wall Hanging With A Hidden Pocket And Stamp is a beautiful antique original piece from Hotta Yu Shoten. The piece features a multi-color design on porcelain and pottery. It has some gold gilt. There is a tiny pocket on the back that I read people could hide a treasure in. They would have several of these hanging on the wall so you wouldn’t know which one the treasure was in. Larger wall pockets held house hold goods that we may keep in a drawer. Or some were used to hold plants. There are not many pre war one left because of breakage. This one was made by
Hotta Yu Shoten & Co. which was in business before WWII and closed in 1947. It is perfect for collectors of Asian antiques and those who appreciate unique items.
