Vintage Japanese Porcelain Small Plate, Mamezara
This is a vintage Japanese porcelain plate. This round small plate, also called
mamezara
, is sometsuke (white porcelain with indigo blue), and has the image of a shishi lion in the center. Mamezara are tiny plates in a Japanese tableware set that typically hold dipping sauces such as soy sauce, garnishes, and other condiments. It is also the perfect size for holding small jewelry.

Good condition considering age. Chips on edges. Rough blemishes in the glaze from production (raised unglazed sections). Wear and tear due to age. Please see the photos carefully.
