This is an amazing celadon incense burner (or heater) made by a distinguished potter in Kurani, Yoshimasa YAMAKAMI (1935 ~ ). He won many honorable prices at many exhibitions. His tea cups were presented to President Ronald Reagan when he was invited to Japan in 1983.
In this incense container, he expressed mountains in far distance with the simplest way. It produced wonderful Wabi-Sabi taste and very calm feeling. The color of the celadon is just perfect. Its color changes depend on how it is lighted. You can see it form attached pictures.
The incense burner is stored in the original wooden box signed by the potter.
It is in perfect condition. It seems not used yet.
