    Description

    japanese antique frog. Possibly a scroll weight. Hand carved root wood. The frog is clinging to a bone column carved with scrimshaw insects that it would commonly prey upon. Charming creation. Slight chip to column ( see photo ). Otherwise good condition. There is a plain bone inner column that the frog slips over.  7 1/2 inches  high. Inner column 5 inches.
