Here is an original Belgian movie poster from the first release of Rene Clair's French farce,
The Flame of New Orleans
. In old New Orleans, a beautiful adventuress juggles the attentions of a rich banker and a dashing sea captain.
This poster is from the first release of the
movie in Belgium shortly after the end of the war in Europe (October 1945). It is printed on the back of a war era ordnance map which was common practice in order to conserve paper. It is in very nice condition with striking
artwork that is unique to this Belgian release poster which seldom comes up for sale or auction.

COUNTRY OF ORIGIN/SIZE: Belgium  14.5" x 19"
CONDITION:
Good Trimmed Folded Condition. Partially trimmed top white border has remnant of a former theater snipe.  A few pinholes, some paper crinkling and a small stain in the surrounding white borders. Printed on the back of a map on thick paper. Slight overall yellowing of paper. Artwork is vivid and completely intact. Folded as originally issued, this poster has been stored flat for the past 23 years and will be shipped rolled in a sturdy tube or box.
