Extremely Rare Western Electric VT-3 With Serial No.200696 And Good Filament

This is an extremely rare, Western Electric VT-3 With Good Etching And A Good Filament!!
Towards the end of WWI, WE was asked by the US Army to develop a tube that would operate with the lowest possible filament power for use in their battery operated trench sets.  Internally, WE assigned the development letter "P" to the Army project while the Army assigned it the VT-3 designation.  Only 1000 such tubes were made and delivered to the Signal Corps.  It was never made available commercially...
The glass envelope is clearly etched:  "VT-3" and "200696".  The base is similar to that of the VT-1 with the last patent date of 12-9-16.
Internal construction is excellent.  The leads are still a crisp, red color.

If you collect Western Electric vacuum tubes, this is a must for you!  You will never see another like this...
