Next up is this Belgian movie poster from the first release of John Cromwell's fantasy romance,
The Enchanted Cottage
. Based on the stage play by Arthur Wing Pinero, this film starred Young and Mcguire as a disfigured war veteran and a homely girl who find romance in a New England cottage where magically they are "transformed". This poster is from the original first release of the film soon after the end of the war in Europe (probably 1946 or early 1947) since it is printed on the reverse of a WWII ordnance map of central Europe. This 1st release poster is in wonderful condition and features striking artwork unique to this Belgian poster. It seldom (if ever) comes up for sale or auction.

COUNTRY OF ORIGIN/SIZE: Belgium  14.5" x 22.75"
CONDITION:
Very Good Untrimmed Folded Condition. Exhibition Information written in crayon in top white border. Printed on the back of a map. A few crinkles and a small stain in lower left border. Slight overall yellowing to the paper.  Artwork completely intact. Originally folded in half as issued, this poster has been stored flat for the past 24 years and will be shipped rolled in a sturdy tube.
