Description
This item was purchased from an estate with a very large collection of lapel pins, which the collector had bagged by years. This pin was in a bag labeledcirca
1910, but this has not been confirmed.
This attractive Masonic screw-back lapel pin has a square-and-compass design that includes two colors of enamel and gilt metal. There is
no mark for either metal content or manufacturer, but the
composition is a gilt non-magnetic metal. There is a threaded post and screw-on 'button' for attachment. This lapel pin measures approximately 13 x 14 mm (nearly 1/2 x 9/16"), and the large 'button' is approximately 14 mm (nearly 9/16") in diameter, a large size typical of such items from the early 1900s.
This item is in very fine condition with signs of handling and toning, and it is very bright. The 'button' attaches easily and securely.
The illustrations in this listing are photos of the actual item being offered for sale, serving as part of the description. NOTE: The actual item has more detail and is much brighter than evident in the photos.
