Antique Meiji Japan Repousse Metal Portrait Frame Chrysanthemum 11" x 8-1/2"  ~
Very pretty chrysanthemum motif copper tone frame from the Meiji period of Japan.  The repousse copper tone metal portion is in good condition except for one corner that is tarnished/discolored (see photos).  The back is sturdy but has suffered water damage; the wooden backing is covered with a thin black cloth that has worn off in many areas as well as on the sides (see photos).  All original hardware.  No glass.  Heavy piece.  Overall measurements 11" x 8-1/2" with opening of 6-1/2" x 4-1/2".
