Columbia Pictures Original Italian Four-Foglio Poster for the Phil Karlson directed western ADVENTURES IN SILVERADO (1948). The film stars Gloria Henry and William Bishop. This was Gloria Henry's fourth film. She was a reliable actress and she is seen in a long list of B pictures. Her most famous role is in the film AIR HOSTESS (Columbia, 1949). In this film, there is a large supporting cast including Edgar Buchanan, Forrest Tucker, Edgar Barrier, Irv Bacon, Fred F. Sears, Eddy Waller, Trevor Bardette, and many others. This western has a literary edge, as the plot follows the progress of novelist Robert Louis Stevenson, as he travels west to find material for his books. He soon runs into the adventure he seeks in a small town where competing stagecoach companies erupt into conflict. This very well may be the best Gloria Henry poster, with art by Alfredo Capitani. This poster was used in an Italian cinema, and it has weathered the years in very fine condition. We have looked at the auction records that we have and we do not see any evidence that this Capitani art has ever been offered in the United States.
