OVERVIEW
The Yokohama TY517 is a highway terrain, all season tire manufactured for commercial vehicles. It was made to be mounted on the vehicle’s drive axle.
The tire promotes a fuel efficient performance. The driving pressure is eased off the tire with its constant road contact. In this manner, the model significantly decreases its rolling resistance. The rolling resistance is the driving pressure affecting the model, which determines the amount of energy the vehicle needs to keep the tires in motion. The reduced rolling resistance lowers the vehicle’s fuel consumption and CO2 emissions greatly. As a result, the tire ensures a fuel conscious and environmentally friendly performance.
The symmetric tread design and the durable compound work together to increase the length of the tread life. The compound is wear-resistant which lessens the tread wear rate significantly. The optimal road contact upgrades the even pressure distribution along the tread area. The equally spread out forces of acceleration, cornering and braking avoids irregular tread wear formation on the tire’s surface. The slower even tread wear rate guarantees an extended usability and service life.
The TY517 offers great damage resistance. The construction features a reinforced full steel belt internal structure, which maintains the optimal tire shape under the load and driving pressure affecting the model. This upgrades the load carrying capacity without allowing the tire’s shape to deform under the driving pressure. The tread pattern’s self-cleaning design ejects rocks stuck between the tread elements. This resists stone retention from drilling rocks into the tire’s casing and shortening the tire’s usability.
