OVERVIEW
The Firestone FD663 is a highway terrain, all season tire manufactured for commercial vehicles. It was made to be mounted on the vehicle's drive axle.
The model promotes a lengthened tread life. The symmetric tread design features tie bars that connect the tread elements and stabilize them under during the drive. While the tires are in motion, these tie bars prevent tread flexing, which upgrades the length of the tread life and the tire's usability. Tread flexing leads to irregular tread wear, and by resisting the tire manages to evenly distribute the driving pressure along the tread area. The equally spread out forces of acceleration, cornering and braking avoids the formation of uneven tread wear, extending the tread life and the tire's usability.
The tire offers excellent durability. The model's internal structure features four full-width reinforced steel belts that maintain the tire's optimal shape under the driving pressure affecting the model. This allows the tire to improve the load and driving durability. The stronger construction prevents the shape's deformation during the drive under the load pressure, which improves the tire's driving stability and enhances its load carrying capability. The better load handling ability improves the tire's performing safety.
The FD663 ensures first-rate all weather traction. The special open shoulder tread design and the all season tire compound work together to boost the dry, wet and winter weather road gripping ability. The all season tire compound keeps the tire's rubber flexibility year round, including in colder winter weather. The tread design, with the continuous center rib, ensures a secure grip on the road surface throughout the year. The open shoulder pattern maintains a clean footprint by eliminating snow from between the tread elements. It also boosts the hydroplaning capability and power to ensure a secure driving experience.
There might be discrepancies of sizes between brands and models of tires which have this size formatting. As the manufacturers only provide the tire width and the rim diameter with these tires, various brands and models will have size differences. In order to ensure the correct size is purchased, the overall tire diameter that is needed should be checked.
