Description
Two, new in box, RCA JAN-CRC-6V6G/GT, VT-109A, military issue tubes. The designation 6V6G/GT was utilized early on, when the bantam glass envelope (GT) was introduced- showing the electrical equivalency between the 6V6G and 6V6GT. That designation was dropped in about 1947. These are of course be used in applications also calling for the 6V6 and 6V6GT tubes. Tested on a Hickok TV-3 military tester that has been calibrated, just to make sure. Firm bases, excellent silvering. Tubes are matched for dynamic gain and structure- test at 4550, 4500 where pass/fail is 2320 micromho. The tubes were also matching on a "Maximatcher", with fixed bias having plate currents of 29.1 ma and 28.4 ma. Do not compare these currents to a Hickok 539 results, as the plate voltages and bias' are completely different- the Maximatcher tests at full plate voltage and a fixed grid bias that is representative at actual use. The tubes have the same structure inside and out, having matching date codes of "V2E", manufactured in March-April 1945. A word about the photo of the top. Given the shade of the top mica- it would give the impression of a dark top glass. These are NOS tubes and do not have any emissions markings on the top glass. Many other lots of tubes for sale this week.
