DDS-30 spectral arc deuterium lamp is used as a source of continuous ultraviolet (UV) radiation in the wavelength range of 186-360 nm in various spectral devices and spectrophonometric devices for industrial and technical purposes: spectrophotometers SF-46, SF-56 and SF-256, monochromators, photoelectric colorimeter KFK-2 (ZOMZ), special illuminators and instruments for checking the listed equipment. The DDS 30 lamp is a cylindrical flask with a side window made of optical quartz and has an octal base. Connection diagram (pinout): 3 - cathode-screen; 5 - cathode; 7 - anode (the remaining free leads must not be used as reference points for mounting).
The source of radiation from the DDS30 lamp is an arc discharge of a mixture of deuterium and neon, injected into a narrow gap. When working with the DDS / 30 lamp on, you should wear protective glasses to protect your eyes from ultraviolet radiation. Do not remove the hot lamp from the illuminator. When changing the lamp, the latter should be taken with your hands only by the base. Before lighting, it is recommended to wipe the lamp window with cotton wool soaked in alcohol to clean the window surface from dirt.
