    Description

    A censored cover sent from Allahabad, India to Indianapolis, Indiana. Franked with India Scott #172A and #173, the 1½ and 2 anna King George VI stamps from the 1941-1943 series. Both are tied the cover by a difficult to read Allahabad postmark. On the left end is censor tape: "OPENED BY EXAMINER". The tape is tied on the front by a "DHC/19" hand stamp in blue and tied on the reverse by Crown censor marking: "PASSED DHC/37". On the reverse is the return address of the Oriental Missionary society, Allahabad, India. This cover measures 152mm x 91mm. See scans for condition.
